| Pumpkin seeds and such. | | I was thinking the other day when a friend suggested eating sunflower seeds. It got me to thinking about roasted pumpkin seeds. I had always eaten them like a sunflower seed. Crack open eat the meat that's in the middle throw away the shell. Then one day I was given pumpkin seeds and was told to eat the whole thing, outside and in. Well, I did. Now it brings up a question:
When you eat pumpkin seeds, do you eat the whole thing or crack it open like a sunflower seed?
Do you eat the shell of the sunflower seed too?
| | Sunflower Seeds VS Pumpkin Seeds | | OK, now don't get me wrong, I like sunflower seeds, but not as much as I like toasted pumpkin seeds. Some people will say there isn't a difference in taste, only size. To me, I notice a difference. If I had to choose one over the other, I'd say pumpkin seeds. Which one do you prefer? | |

| | Eating Pumpkin Seeds Alleviates Menopausal Symptoms. | | This is really what the heading in one of my earlier post in Health should have read. Not Menstrual symptoms but Menopausal symptoms. In case you did not view that discussion it was about a local female medical student conducted a research/study to find out the effects of pumpkin seeds as a part of the diet, on menopausal women. The study showed that by consuming pumpkin seeds the menopausal woman would experience a relief from vaginal dryness and other menopausal symptoms.I went further to mention that I know of vegetarians who consume pumkins seeds like nuts and wondered if they knew the value of these seeds. I would like to hear from you. What do you normally do with your pumpkin seeds and would you start consuming these seeds or wait on futher medical confirmation? | |

| Eating Pumpkin Seeds Alleviates Menstrual Symtoms | | In the local news yesterday it was revealed that a young female mmedical student conducted a study on the impact of pumpkin seeds on menopausal symtoms. Her studies proved that eating these seeds do have a positive effect on menopausal women. Of course the traditional lab rat was used to aid in this study. I do not have the full details but I think this is great news for women. Many poeple I know prefer to take natural remedies once the option is feasable. I knew that vegetarians snack on pumkin seeds like nuts but I wonder if they had any idea just how valuable the seeds actually are. What do you normally do with your pumpkin seeds? Would you be willing to start eating them now to gain the benefits or would you wait on the big confirmation of its value? | |

The one in the sun haven't even grown but the other one are growing really big in no time. I hope by Oct they will at least be a few pumpkins for my children to cut or maybe we will have a real big one to enter in a contest that would be nice.
