Greenhouses Discussions
Do you like vegetables in greenhouses?
Hi! All I don't like the vegetables against seasons in greenhouses. They have no flavor like the vegetables in season. So I enjoy the vegetables in seasons in the greenhouses. In greenhouses where they are protected from th wind, rain and insects. The temperature is controlled with computrs no matter how the weather is outside.
Changing Stance On Climate Is Dangerous!!!
According to me what we hold as the point of departure determines our future course of strategy.the way our strategy is proceeding now,it might become difficult for us to press forward with economic and technological advancement.global warming today might be exaacerbated by current emission of greenhouse gases and the like, but it started because of the emissions put out by western nation for more than a century.bit in climate negotiations, developed nations seem to be subverting the very idea of equality.it is logical for developed nations such as the US to stress on equal responsibility for cutting emssions of greenhouse gases.while global warming is a serious concern.what should you do about it.
Resting Places
This is my loved Beaqgle BUSTER. He is on his bed which he loves as you can clearly see. I try to keep him off the furniture is one reason I bought this pillow for him. I hate the fur all over the furniture. A few less things to vaacuum actually this way. Do you have a pillow/bed for your dog/cat/pet(s)? What is the reasoning in having this bed for your pet? Do you allow them on your furniture at all? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~
Do you like greenhouse friuts?
Though our country has a big area also stretches across the temperate zone and the tropics, for us,to meet all of us,in most of time we stil being offered by the greenhouse friuts .It's cheaper, really. However,i would prefer to choose natural friuts. Much sweet, delicious. How about you that friut in you country?
Polytunnel usage
We recently bought a large polytunnel/greenhouse from Ebay,we considered it was a good buy,we paid around £45 for it and that was including the carriage. It ws easy to assemble and a much cheaper way out thatn buying another glass green house for our allotment. We have secured it much as we can and when we had the recent high winds it appeared to with stand them OK.Im wondering if there are any Mylotters that are into the Hydrophonic fruit and vegetable growing?
Do you eat ampalaya?
Bitter gourd or ampalaya as we call it here in the Philippines is a vegetable that is not so popular with children because of its bitter taste. But it is very nutritious and can even help those people who have diabetes. It can also regulate the amount of blood sugar in the body so aside from curing, it also prevents the disease. There are many herbal supplements now in the market that are made from ampalaya. But instead of taking those supplements, I’d rather just eat the vegetable. My mother keeps on making dishes out of ampalaya the past few days and I am not complaining as in spite of its bitter taste, it can also be made a tasty dish. I love ampalaya mixed with some pork and egg. I also like ampalaya leaves in a monggo dish.
I love my garden!
I just absolutely love spending time in my garden! We have a fairly decent sized garden and have 3 dogs who I love to spend time with in the sunshine in my garden. It's south facing so during the majority of the day we have the sun shining in which is juts brilliant. We have now started a rockery area in the back corner where we will have a bench and lots of flowers with little stepping stones so that we can sit in the sun and just enjoy the peace and quiet. So tell me do you love your garden and do you enjoy mkaing it look beautiful so that you can sit and enjoy it?
Is It Tough Enough?...
I have a major problem that I thought some of the good ppl at MyLot could help me with. We have a very sunny porch. In the mornings it’s rather cool and shady but in the afternoons it’s a direct sunspot. Last year I put pepper and tomato plants along with a few flowers out there and within weeks they were toasted. No matter how much I watered them or tried to coax them along they just dried up and turned to ashes. I’d love to plant a few plants out on the porch but I’m tired of watching them die. I’m thinking I’m going to have to go with cactus’. They seem hardy enough, they like direct sun and they don’t have to be watered all the time. What kinds of plants would be good for this type of area (they have to be in pots)? Do you think cactus’ would be a good choice? Are there any cactus’ that get pretty flowers on them? What do you do with them in the wintertime…just cover them or bring them in?**AT PEACE WITHIN**~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~
Ideas needed for the use of 2-liter bottles.
I use a lot of things that are in 2-little bottles and I am looking for ideas on what I can use them for instead of always throwing them away or to the recycle bin. Thanks in advance.
Why is it called a grenhouse?
It's not green, it's transparent, with all that glass! I know in some places they're called glasshouses and that makes more sense, but does anybody know why these garden structures got to be called 'greenhouses'? I'd be fascinated to know.
